Starting off, you’ll travel over the central highlands, then on to Samburu National Reserve. This sun-covered park offers a wonderful mixture of unusual game like the reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra. Plus, lots of opportunities to view more commonly known wildlife like leopard, cheetah, lion and buffalo.
Moving on there’s an optional stop to take in the drama of 74 m high Thompson falls at Nyahururu.
We then proceed to one of the most attractive Kenyan parks, Lake Nakuru Park. Explore the great rocky escarpments that tower over acacia forest, waterfalls, wooded hills and euphorbia trees dot the lake. But that’s only the beginning of what this special park has to offer because the wildlife viewing here is easy and accessible. Lake Nakuru is known for hosting some endangered species. You’re sure to see rare Rothschild’s Giraffe along with white rhino, leopard, tree-climbing lions among other wildlife.
Lake Nakuru Park is also sanctuary to one of Kenya’s largest populations of black rhino. So, get your camera ready!
Next, your 6-day safari tour brings you up close to the richest park in the world – the Masai Mara. You’ve heard of it, and now it’s your turn to see the Mara up close. Here, you’ll enjoy plenty of large and small wildlife. You’ll visit the Mara River – watch the many hippos and crocodiles. And during the migration season (July – October) you’ll be treated to the unforgettable sight of thousands upon thousands of wildebeests and zebra making their way across the river.
As a special finale to your safari there will be an opportunity to visit with and learn about the Maasai people with an optional visit to their village.
